TranceSonics at the N.E.S.T. with Peter Blum and Special Guest Instructors.

Gain insights and techniques from my 35+ years of experience as a teacher and performer in both fields-hypnosis and sound healing. What will be emphasized is the relational aspect of the work. "Intra" and "Inter" personal aspect will be examined. Learn in a highly interactive and intimate environment with supervision and feedback, how to work with self and others.

Teachings may include these topics:

  • “Deep Listening” as defined and taught by Pauline Oliveros

  • Vowel sounds practice and meaning, taken from the work of Beautiful Painted Arrow

  • Concepts of rapport, pacing and leading, and some basic hypnotic language patterns

  • Use of drones as foundation (tamboura, shruti box)

  • Tuning fork protocol as taught by John Beaulieu (Body tuners and “Brain” tuners)

  • Tibetan singing bowls - brief history and debunking myths

  • Brief overview of mantra - specifically as a self-hypnotic practice

  • Ga Ma La Ta Ki rhythm patterns as taught by Dr. Karl Berger at Creative Music Studio

  • Storytelling - the brain’s “default” setting. The hypnotic power of the story of the sound and the sound of the story.

  • Entrainment - what is it and how does it work?

  • Shamanic Journeying w/drum & rattle a la Michael Harner

  • “Magical Voice”, aka Harmonic or Overtone singing, as taught by Timothy Hil

About Facilitator:

As a Certified Instructor for the National Guild of Hypnotists (NGH) since 1993, Peter Blum has trained and certified hundreds in the art of hypnosis. After completing extensive study of the world’s major spiritual traditions, Peter was ordained as an Interfaith Minister in the seminary program of the Foundation for the Living Earth in 1995. Peter considers the practice of hypnotherapy to be a spiritual art form.

Regarding Meals:

Friday night - Soup, salad and fresh bread will be served.

Bring something to share if you like.

Saturday and Sunday bring lunch or visit the town of Woodstock for a bite out during the lunch break.
